A Word from our Assistant Principal

Hello There!!  I am Dr. Amanda Worley and I am currently serving as the Assistant Principal here at Conover School. I perform a variety of supportive and supervisory tasks school wide in assisting Classroom Teacher, Teacher Assistants, Therapists, the Principal, parents and all staff. I perform a wide range of tasks to support the supervision of EC staff and ensure the compliance of the regulations of the Individuals with Disabilities Education Act (IDEA).  In addition, I support the students and teachers using the Extended Content Standards to access the materials and appropriate instruction, specifically using the Unique Learning System. I supports students on the Autism Spectrum Disorder. In addition, I assists the Exceptional Children's director with grant writing, policy and procedures, teacher needs, and serving the students in the exceptional needs program meet their functional and academic needs. In addition, I also support all teachers in the district pursuing their National Board Certification. 


Before having the privilege of coming to Conover School, I served as the Curriculum Coordinator/North Carolina State Improvement Project Coordinator for Davie County Schools. I worked in Iredell-Statesville schools as a Curriculum Specialist, NCSIP Coordinator, Assistive Technology Coordinator, Extend I testing coordinator, Program Specialist, and taught in an exceptional children’s classroom. I have a Bachelor’s degree in Special Education K-12 Cross Categorical with a minor in Psychology from Appalachian State University. In addition, I completed my Master’s degree in Special Education K-12 Cross Categorical at Appalachian State University. I achieved National Board Certification and Renewal of the Certification. I then completed my Doctorate in Educational Leadership at Wingate University.
